PRED-5A Results

In order to help demonstrate the performance of the PRED series of PRI Predictors, we have compiled a number of graphical results.  Please make a selection from the menu on the right.

The PRED-5A is a multi-channel adaptive PRI Predictor.  It is capable of de-interleaving the pulse trains from multiple simultaneous emitters using a combination of RF information (supplied by the system IFM/DFD) and time domain measurements.  The built-in technique generator (TG) can be used to control a DRFM or VCO or it can be used to trigger an existing TG that does not have the ability to produce uprange false targets on its own.  The PRED-5A is able to isolate single emitters for ECM or target several at once using built-in timeshare techniques.

The general results deal mostly with algorithm performance.  We also have included performance data both with  and without a system DFD.

Although DFD/IFM information can be very helpful in de-interleaving the pulse trains, it is not absolutely necessary to the PRED operation.

The PRED-5A uses adaptive acquisition techniques for faster, more accurate acquisition of emitters in dense environments.  The adaptive threads consist of multiple processes running in parallel that can be selected or de-selected as needed by the PRED arbitrator as PRI data is received.  This parallel architecture gives the PRED speed, stability and the resilience to cope with spurious pulses, dropped pulses and results in the ability to perform fast re-acquisitions of scanning radars after the subsequent scans following pattern acquisition.
